Valerie Arioto, the 8th overall pick to the USSSA Pride in the 2012 NPF Draft and Cal Berkeley utility player, was named by the 2012 All-Conference Player of the Year by the Pac-12 on May 16.

Arioto, a 3-time All-Pac-12 honoree, is the first Cal player ever to be honored as the Pac-12 Player of the Year.  Arioto leads the nation in walks per game at 1.37.  The Pride Draftee leads her conference and lands in the national top ten in four additional categories: ERA (1.22, 9th in nation), slugging percentage (1.000, 3rd in nation), on-base percentage (.626, 2nd in nation), and homeruns (22, 6th in nation).

Arioto is a top-25 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year and a top-10 finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS award. She earns a spot on the Pac-12 All Conference First Team in the Utility position.
