Pride Rolls in 3 Game Set in California


Palm Springs, CA- The USSSA Pride took to California in this chilly week the play a 3 game set against 3 different teams. Cal Baptist, Washington, and Team Toyota out of Japan each played the Pride in exhibition play. During the week the Pride played their first game against Cal Baptist University, who arguably gave the Pride their toughest contest of the week, with the Pride winning 5-2. Caitlin Lowe started right where she left off in 2012, going 2-3 with 2 singles in the game. Team NPF Defeats Huskies


SEATTLE - On a windy and rainy Sunday afternoon, the Washington women's softball team took on some of the most talented players in the world, while also welcoming back a few of their own in Nikia Williams, Ashley Charters, and Jenn Salling. The Huskies fell 6-0 to the All-Stars in a game that was called after the sixth inning due to heavy rain. NPF pitcher Kristina Thorson showed why she is an all star, going all six innings and only giving up two hits. Three Huskies Earn All-Region Honors (5/17) “STARKVILLE, Miss. - After six huskies earned All-Pac 12 honors this week, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced their All-Region team as well and three of those Huskies were included in the Pacific Region selections. “Senior Nikia Williams represents UW on the first-team, while senior Kimi Pohlman and sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby were awarded second-team honors.” Read More Here. NCAA Regional Results Are In: Draftee Updates


5 Pride Draftees move on to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament, while 2 draftees’ teams fell just short of regional tournament wins. Michelle Moultrie of the University of Florida and UCLA’s Andrea Harrison both concluded their college careers this weekend.  Ironically, both Moultrie’s and Harrison’s teams were eliminated by Florida teams, dropping regional titles to the University of South Florida and Florida State, respectively. Moultrie ends her University of Florida Tenure as the college’s career leader in batting average at .385 and stolen bases at 83 in 99 attempts.   … [Read more...]

2012 NCAA Softball Bracket Released


On May 13, the NCAA released their 2012 Division I Softball Championship bracket, announcing the regional line-ups for the Nation's top 64 softball programs, including the teams of all seven of our 2012 USSSA Pride Draftees. Draftee Valerie Arioto and her team, the number 1 seed Cal Bears will host Iona, Boston University, and Arkansas in the University.  Cal will face Iona on May 18 at 7 p.m..
