Boxscore Pride: 17 Comets: 0 The final game of the four-game opening series against the NY/NJ Comets Tuesday night was a walk in the park for the USSSA Pride (3-1). Cat Osterman threw a no-hitter in the Pride’s 17-0 dominating win, striking out 14 batters in her second complete game in as many starts in the circle. Osterman allowed just five base runners all night, walking three Comets (Bianca Mejia in the first and sixth and Courtney Liddle in the third) and hitting two (Kelsi Weseman in the fourth and Liddle in the fifth). USSSA Pride Split Double Header; Ashley Charters Walks Off In Victory!

Game 1 Boxscore Pride: 8 Comets: 7 In the first game of a double header on Monday night, The USSSA Pride (2-0) and the NY/NJ Comets (0-2) traded the lead four times, but the USSSA Pride ended up on top with an 8-7 win over the NY/NJ Comets on a walk off two run home run by Ashley Charters. The USSSA Pride were led by a flawless day at the dish by Natasha Watley, who went 3-3 against the Comets' pitching. Boxscore Pride: 5 Comets: 1 Kissimmee, FL- The USSSA Pride started off their 2013 season in winning fashion with a 5-1 victory over the NY/NJ Comets on Sunday night in their home opener. Cat Osterman got off to a hot start in what will be her final season, striking out 13 batters and holding the Comets to one run and two hits in her first victory of the season. She remembers the game and she remembers that it was exciting, but she doesn’t remember the strikeout itself. Understandable, considering she’s recorded 645 more since then. USSSA Pride Signs University of Oklahoma Catcher Jessica Shults

Kissimmee, FL- Less than 48 hours after her Women’s College World Series national championship win, the USSSA Pride signed University of Oklahoma catcher Jessica Shults to a two-year deal. Shults and the Oklahoma Sooners swept the University of Tennessee Lady Vols in a best-of-three series in Oklahoma City Monday and Tuesday. Shults, who hails from Valencia, Calif., was named to the 2013 All-Big 12 Defensive Team as well as a 2012 First-Team NFCA All-American and 2011 and 2010 NFCA Second-Team All-American.
