NPF Rookies Shine Opening Weekend

Nashville, Tenn. – June 5, 2014 - The 2014 National Pro Fastpitch season got underway this past weekend and several rookies shined in their professional softball debuts. A total of 15 draft picks and 18 free agents began their professional careers in the NPF opening weekend. The Chicago Bandits newcomers had a huge opening weekend with seven different rookies making an impact. The Bandits opened with a three wins over the Arkon Racers. Draftee Update- Final 2 Draftee’s Eliminated from the WCWS

Brittany Mack The Lady Tigers (40-25), one of two unranked teams to advance to the final eight in the WCWS needed to win two elimination games on Saturday to stay alive. They won the first, but couldn't pull off the second victory, falling 6-0 to defending champion Arizona State. The Lady Tigers survived their first elimination game of the day with a 1-0 victory over South Florida (50-14). Brittany Mack's two-hitter helped lead LSU past South Florida.
