LOS ANGELES - Senior B.B. Bates hit a two-run homer for the Bruins, and following a shaky first inning, sophomore Ally Carda and junior Jessica Hall shut down the National Professional Fastpitch All-Stars in a 6-3 loss at Easton Stadium on Saturday. The NPF All-Stars, in its third season of the Back to School Tour, is 58-3 overall and 17-2 this year. The NPF squad included former Bruins GiOnna DiSalvatore and Andrea Duran. Aztecs Battle But Team NPF Comes Out With A Win

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State softball team dropped a 15-7 decision to the National Fastpitch All-Stars in an exhibition game Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs committed six errors in the contest and were outhit by a 14-9 margin. The NPF All-Stars, who are made up of some of the top players from the National Pro Fastpitch league, went 41-1 last year in the Back to School Tour. Team NPF Takes Game from Arizona with the Long Ball

Tucson, AZ- University of Arizona Wildcat Softball allowed six home runs in a 23-1 loss at the hands of the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars in front of 783 fans at Hillenbrand Stadium. Shelby Babcock held the NPF All-Stars without a hit for the first two innings, but a nine-run third began a 21-hit, 23-run onslaught. Babcock pitched two inning and faced seven batters in the third. Babcock allowed seven runs on five hits while walking three. She was relieved by Nancy Bowling who pitched three innings and allowed eight runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out one. LAFAYETTE -- Senior shortstop Nerissa Myers' double in the sixth inning lifted the Ragin’ Cajuns softball team to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars Saturday night at Lamson Park in the 2012 NPF Back to School Tour stop at the facility. A crowd of 1,285 witnessed the exhibition contest continuing the community's support of world class softball. Sophomore ace pitcher Jordan Wallace earned the win in the circle for the Cajuns, throwing all seven innings, giving up four runs on eight hits. In the first email I received, I was asked what the Pride players do on their time off.
