NCAA Regional Results Are In: Draftee Updates

5 Pride Draftees move on to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament, while 2 draftees’ teams fell just short of regional tournament wins. Michelle Moultrie of the University of Florida and UCLA’s Andrea Harrison both concluded their college careers this weekend.  Ironically, both Moultrie’s and Harrison’s teams were eliminated by Florida teams, dropping regional titles to the University of South Florida and Florida State, respectively. Pac-12 Honors Pride Draftees

The Pac-12 honored USSSA Pride Draftees in their All-Confrence softball announcement made on May 16. Valerie Arioto, the 8th overall pick in the 2012 NPF Draft, was recognized as the Pac-12 Player of the Year.  Arioto, a senior utility player for the Cal Bears, is the first softball player in her school's history to earn Play of the Year Honors.  Arioto, a 3-time All-Pac-12 honoree, leads the nation in walks per game (1.37), and leads her conference in 4 additional categories.  She earns a spot in the utility position of the All-Conference 1st Team. 2012 NCAA Softball Bracket Released

On May 13, the NCAA released their 2012 Division I Softball Championship bracket, announcing the regional line-ups for the Nation's top 64 softball programs, including the teams of all seven of our 2012 USSSA Pride Draftees. Draftee Valerie Arioto and her team, the number 1 seed Cal Bears will host Iona, Boston University, and Arkansas in the University.  Cal will face Iona on May 18 at 7 p.m..
