USSSA Pride Take DH Against Scrap Yard to Kick-Off Series in Tallahassee


Kissimmee, FL- July 31, 2016- The USSSA Florida Pride took both games Sunday night to kick off the four-game series against the Scrap Yard Dawgs in Tallahassee. Their third consecutive double header of this past week, the Pride dominated all six games to come to their 31st win of the season. Game one ended with a final score of 11-2, while game two was decided by a score of 6-1. USSSA Pride Trade Shipman and Del Ponte for Draft Picks


Kissimmee, FL—The USSSA Florida Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) announce the trade of Madison Shipman and Brigette Del Ponte to the Scrap Yard Dawgs in exchange for 2016 and 2017 NPF College Draft picks. Bandits Sweep Series to Win 3rd NPF Championship

Game 2 saw a rematch between Monica Abbott vs. Cat Osterman. For the second straight day it was errors that cost the Pride and Monica Abbott got the complete game shutout. Abbott received a scare in the second inning when Shelby Pendley just missed a home run off the left field wall. Abbott was able to settle down and get out of the inning. By: Jarrod Johnson Hoover, Ala. – as most expected, Game 1 between the Chicago Bandits and the USSSA Pride was a pitching duel between Monica Abbott and Cat Osterman that lasted an hour and fifty-seven minutes in front of a crowd of 1,140. Neither pitcher disappointed as there were no clean hits during the entire game. Abbott got the complete game win going seven innings giving up two hits, five strikeouts and two walks. USSSA Pride Defeat Akron Racers 2-1


Kissimmee, FL- July 23-The USSSA Pride (26-10) fell behind early but responded with timely hitting to down the Akron Racers (16-17) 2-1 Thursday evening at Champion Stadium. The Racers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in their first at-bat when Shellie Robinson singled home Taylor Schlopy, who reached on a fielder’s choice. USSSA loaded the bases in the third with three free passes issued to Lauren Chamberlain, Kelly Kretschman, and Madison Shipman and took the 2-1 lead on Andrea Duran’s two –run single to left field.
