Chamberlain’s Extra-Inning Homer Gives USSSA 4-2 Victory Over Rebellion


Lancaster,PA—June 26, 2015-The Pennsylvania Rebellion and USSSA Pride found themselves in extra innings for the second-straight evening, but a two-run homer by rookie Lauren Chamberlain in the top of the 10th inning was enough to give the Pride the late-night victory by a final score of 4-2 from Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, PA. Rookie Watch: Kristyn Sandberg by Combat Sports


Week One: Georgia alum, Kristyn Sandberg did not dissappoint as she stepped up to the plate five times in the opening weekend, yielding a RBI single her first time at bat. For the weekend series against the Chicago Bandits ,the USSSA Pride went 1-3 as Sandberg maintained a .600 average with three hits, a double and two RBI’s total.   When did you get to Orlando? Draftee Krystyn Sandberg Signs With Pride


The USSSA Pride had chosen the Georgia softball team’s senior catcher as the fifth overall pick in the 2012 National Pro Fastpitch Senior Draft. She arrived at USSSA Headquarters and met with USSSA CEO Don DeDonatis and agreed to terms on a contract and signed on the dotted line. Sandberg’s power hitting will fit right in with her NPF teammates. Sandberg was the Bulldogs triple crown winner, leading the team in home runs, RBI and batting average.
