Akron Racers Fall to USSSA Pride 12-1

AKRON, OH – July 12, 2013 – The Akron Racers struggled against the USSSA Pride on both sides of the ball in tonight’s 12 -1 loss to the Pride. The Racers batters managed just four hits and one run while the Racers pitchers combined to give up 12 runs on 15 hits. Brittany Mack was charged with the loss for the Racers and Sarah Pauly receives the win for the Pride. Mack’s record is now 2-4 and Pauly jumps to 8-4. Mack pitched just 2.0 innings and finished with a line of seven hits, eight runs, two walks, and one strike out. Akron Racers Fall to USSSA Pride 11-5; Pride Complete Series Sweep

AKRON, OH – July 7, 2013 – The Akron Racers dropped the last game of the four-game seires against the USSSA Pride. The final score was 11-5. The Pride got their runs in bunches; they scored five runs in the second inning and six runs in the fifth inning. The Racers have now dropped seven in a row. Rachele Fico took the circle for her second start of the season, while Cat Osterman threw for the Pride. Fico threw for four innings before she was replaced by Jen Mineau. Akron Racers Fall 6-4 in Series Opener vs. USSSA Pride

AKRON, OH – The USSSA Pride wasted little time against the Akron Racers Thursday, scoring early against starting pitcher Ivy Renfroe. The Racers’ rookie surrendered 11 hits through her seven innings of work, while the Pride’s counterpart Cat Osterman fanned double-digit batters for the eighth time this season. The Pride jumped out to an early lead in the 6-4 victory, scoring five runs off eight hits in the first two innings. Despite the early advantage, Renfroe and the Racers didn’t lay down. Crowd of 3000 Watches Pride Edge Racers 3-2

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –  The USSSA Pride faced off against the Akron Racers on a gorgeous night in Corpus Christi, TX in front of a massive crowd of 3,030. Danielle Lawrie(2-0) carried a 3-1 lead into the top of the 6th inning until Nicole Pauly singled home a run to make it a 3-2 ball game. Lawrie didn’t falter and she held on,  closing out the Racers to get a complete game victory and a Pride win.
