The Racers took advantage of the strong pitching and took the lead early, when Ashley Thomas singled in the third inning, and was driven in on Nerissa Myers’ single. Akron Racers Fall 6-4 in Series Opener vs. USSSA Pride

AKRON, OH – The USSSA Pride wasted little time against the Akron Racers Thursday, scoring early against starting pitcher Ivy Renfroe. The Racers’ rookie surrendered 11 hits through her seven innings of work, while the Pride’s counterpart Cat Osterman fanned double-digit batters for the eighth time this season. CORPUS CHRISTI — The USSSA Pride got plenty of help from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's former player and now pitching coach in taking the first game of a softball doubleheader against Akron on Saturday. Sarah Pauly hung on and got the win in the tight 3-2 victory. Osterman Dominates; Tosses 1 Hit Gem


Corpus Christi, FL- Cat Osterman (1-1) pitched a gem on Friday night against the Racers in front of a crowd of 2900 in Corpus Christi. The Racers offense struggled early to get going against Osterman, while the Pride offense exploded for 7 runs on 9 hits. The Pride got out to a quick lead in the 1st. NPF All-Stars Defeat Bulldogs, 6-1


ATHENS, Ga. – The National Pro Fastpitch brought its 2011 Back-To-School Tour to the University of Georgia on Thursday and the All-Stars defeated the Bulldogs, 6-1, at Jack Turner Softball Stadium. In its second year, the NPF's Back-To-School Tour was making it second trip to the Classic City and in this year's meeting the All-Stars pulled out the victory with two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to improve to 11-0 on the tour.
