KANNAPOLIS – The Carolina Diamonds ended the final homestand of their inaugural National Pro Fastpitch softball league season with a 6-4 extra innings loss to the league’s leading USSSA Pride at Kannapolis’s CMC-NorthEast Stadium. “I am proud of the kids. They played with fire. We came back, we did some things that we needed to. Errors trip the Diamonds; Fall To Pride


Kannapolis, NC- Diamonds fans saw a pitching dual between Katie Burkhart (8-9) and Danielle Lawrie (7-2) that was tarnished by three Diamond errors and another loss to the Pride with a final score of 4-1. The Pride’s Natasha Watley started the game and the Diamonds’ error count when she slapped towards third base and the ball was bobbled.  Kretschman hit a blooper over Villarreal’s head at second that scored Watley and gave the Pride an early 1-0 lead. NPF and Pride Media Coverage Excels in 2012


The media coverage on the USSSA Pride and NPF softball this season has come a long way and has made significant strides in getting the attention of the Professional Sports World and the Fastpitch world in general. The USSSA Pride have played “Home” series’ this season at many different places in many different states. In June they traveled to Corpus Christi, TX where they took on the Akron Racers in a 3 game series in which they swept 3 games to none. Final Game between Pride and Diamonds Cancelled


Baton Rouge, LA-Game 4 of the Pride series at LSU has been cancelled due to severe weather in the area. The Pride managed to finish last night's game which was postponed because of rain, but could not finish the final game of the series against the Carolina Diamonds before the severe weather made it's way back to Tiger Park. The game against the Diamonds will be rescheduled for a later time during the season.
