Hey readers! As you may have seen, I have a section on my website that allows you to email me questions or future blog ideas. In the first email I received, I was asked what the Pride players do on their time off. Whether they have full-time careers, are stay-at-home moms, etc. There is certainly a wide variety of “jobs” among the Pride players, including: being mommies, college coaches, playing abroad, finishing school, newlyweds, and working “regular” jobs. NPF Releases 2012 Fall Back to School Tour

Nashville, TN - National Pro Fastpitch announced today the 2012 NPF Back to School Tour schedule that is set to launch in September. The Tour is sponsored in part by USSSA, with the support of Major League Baseball. The 2012 Tour marks the third consecutive year the NPF has placed a team made up of all-stars from all 4 NPF teams, on the road to compete in exhibition games against colleges across the U.S. The 2012 Tour will make 21 stops across 16 states, and compete against 22 different schools in a 40 day span. Montalvo hits late home run, Racers fall 5-2

AKRON, OH – August 19, 2012 – Kelley Montalvo blasted a solo home run over the center field fence in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Racers, closing the scoring gap to 5-2. The USSSA Florida Pride stood strong, taking the weekend series from the Akron Racers, winning 5-2. The Pride started off strong in the first inning with two doubles hit by Caitlin Lowe and Lauren Lappin. Kristyn Sandberg followed in the next at-bat and took first on a hit-by-pitch. Bandits Complete Sweep with 3-1 Win Over Pride

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sweeping any team in a four game series is difficult at any level, but the Chicago Bandits had exactly that opportunity Sunday evening at the Ballpark in Rosemont. Behind strong pitching, defense and more timely hitting by Megan Wiggins, the Bandits did just that, taking Sunday’s game by a 3-1 score.
