Maumee, OH- July 4, 2015- The USSSA Florida Pride defeated the Pennsylvania Rebellion in game two of the Maumee, Ohio series with a final score of 5-2 on Independence Day. Starting for the Pride, Hannah Rogers, pitched five innings and earned herself the win, while Dagmar Bloeming took the loss.

The Rebellion started things off quickly in game two of the series with two down in the top of the first. Mandy Ogle (2-3, 2B) lead the carnage off with a double that was followed by an Alisa Goler (1-3, 2 RBI) home run down the right field line to put the Rebellion up by two runs early in the game.

The Pride responded back in the bottom of the second. Lauren Chamberlain (1-2) started things off with a single up the middle. Madison Shipman (2-3) followed with a single that placed two Pride runners on with only one out. Courtney Ceo (1-2) then grounded out to advance both Chamberlain and Shipman into scoring position. With two outs, Amanda Kamekona (1-3, 3 RBI) stepped up to the plate and came in huge for the Pride with a 3 run homer to put the Pride on the board and take the lead.

In the bottom of the third, Megan Wiggins (1-3), Kelly Kretschman (1-3), and Andrea Duran (1-3) all singled to load the bases. With no outs, GiOnna DiSalvatore (1 RBI) singled hard, on a fielder’s choice, and brought in Wiggins from 3rd. DiSalvatore was caught stealing and despite a Chamberlain walk, the Pride were stopped at one run to make it 4-2.

Following a throwing error by the Rebellion, Kamekona and Ceo reached the corners for the Pride. Breja’e Washington came into the game to pinch run for Kamekona and quickly stole second base. With no outs, Megan Willis (1 RBI) flied out to left field but it was enough to plate Ceo and extend the Pride lead to 5-2.
